Wellington Introduction

Wellington Introduction

Located between two of New Zealand’s finest wine regions, Wellington is recognised worldwide as one of the best places to live on the planet. Named in the BBC’s Hottest Cities list and labelled ‘The Coolest Capital’ by Lonely Planet, Wellington is celebrated as New Zealand’s creative, cultural and culinary hub.

Right on the edge of the city is Wellington’s waterfront, which serves as a classic example of the sort of lifestyle lived in Wellington. Sit back with a drink in hand while taking in the beautiful lagoon and interesting artwork that surrounds you.

Visit the sculpture trail. With its many highlights, you will see just how creative Wellington really is. Free of charge and within walking distance of the city, the trail adds to an already magnificent day on the waterfront for Caty and Trevor.

One of the best places in Wellington to take it all in, the City to Sea Bridge connects the waterfront to Civic Square. Designed in traditional themes, this bridge tells the story of Wellington harbour. Legend has it that the capital was created by sea monsters, who once lived in a lake. In an attempt to reach the sea they crashed into the earth, which turned the lake into a harbour.
