Harbin Ice Festival in Alpensia

Harbin Ice Festival in Alpensia

One of the most remarkable exhibitions anywhere in the world is called the Harbin Ice festival in Harbin city in northern China. What they do there is so incredible and gets millions of visitors every year.

The good news? South Koreans have managed to bring the festival to Korea and the display of over 300 sculptures will blow your mind. Located next door to the Alpensia Resort are the spectacular displays and they really do have an international flavour.

The beautiful recreation of sculptures such as the Colosseum, Mount Rushmore, the Taj Mahal and more took the artists a month to complete and over 100,000 cubes of ice were used to construct these amazing wonders of the world.

This festival is a fantastic family experience that is perfect for the school holidays, with plenty to see and do. Enjoy a sleigh ride, take a horse drawn sled and sample a host of local delicacies on offer around the festival.

This ice festival is truly remarkable and will also be coming back next year just in time for the winter games. There are so many things you need to check out but don’t forget the gloves!
